For more than six decades, the name THUMM has stood for top quality “Made in Germany.” What began as a small family business is now an internationally recognized manufacturer of rotators and rotary unions. Our products are used worldwide – wherever heavy loads are moved and the highest precision is required.
Our values have remained the same since the company was founded: authenticity, expertise and reliability. They shape our products as well as our dealings with customers and partners. With many years of experience, technological know-how and a spirit of innovation, we set standards that are recognized worldwide – such as the THUMM connection dimensions for hole pattern and pin.
Claudia Pedersen and Vera Kadel are the second generation to continue running the family business with passion. They combine established tradition with a clear vision for the future, thus ensuring that THUMM will continue to stand for quality and innovation in the future.

BEGAN
1963
the company was founded by Heinz Thumm. In the early years, tools and equipment were manufactured for the goldsmith industry.
1968
Heinz Thumm dedicated himself to the technical problems of stop rotators and developed solutions that initiated steady growth of the company.
The stop and all-round rotators that were common at the time were converted by THUMM into a standardized modular system. The basic elements were cast, expanded from individual parts and equipped with efficient roller and plain bearings. Full interchangeability was now achieved and a comprehensive product range for a wide variety of customer requirements was realized through flexible suspensions and pins.
1970
the first endless rotator was developed, the design of which was only replaced by a successor model 18 years later.
2023
the Heinz Thumm company celebrated its 60th anniversary with a company outing to Hohenneuffen Castle.
TODAY
the company’s competence is demonstrated by many domestic and foreign patents and, last but not least, by the fact that THUMM connection dimensions of hole pattern and pin have become internationally established.
